All about me, continued

Our school theme for the past couple of weeks  and this week is "All about me".

After speaking about our faces we went on to talk about parts of our body. We traced some of our  (brave;) friends during circle time , and stuck on parts of the body that we were able to identify.

We then went on to talk about our five senses. 

Hands are for feeling. We passed around rough sandpaper, bumpy velcro,  a smooth hard stone,soft felt , and soft velcro, to feel with our hands

Jake and Gaby are feeling with their hands things that are soft.

Livia is feeling a hard stone.

We felt  all different textures .

Eyes are for seeing. We could see through the sunglasses when they were on our eyes, but when we put them on our tummy , we couldn't see through them. When we had our eyes open we were able to see ourselves in the mirror, when we covered our eyes, we could no longer see ourselves in the mirror.

We passed around small bags with cloves , cinnamon sticks, and smelling candles to smell with our noses....When we put those same bags on our shoulders , ears, knees etc...we couldn't smell anything from them!

We passed around cool bells to shake and LISTEN to. Ears are for hearing .

CIRCLES, ABC continued

We reviewed circles by doing some exercises with circles.

We also stuck circle shaped tissue paper onto a paper to make a beautiful ,colorful, collage!

We all had a chance to decorate the first letter of our name with colorful dot paints!

CIRCLES!

Today we spoke about about CIRCLES. We found so many circle shaped things in our classroom. We all held circles at 'circle time' and sang the song:
(Tune: The wheels on the bus...)
The shape of a circle goes round and round, round and round, round and round...etc

Continuing with our red color theme, we painted red circles with circle shaped cups.

All about me

This week we started our unit on "All about me".
We spoke about which friends in our class are boys and which are girls. We spoke about parts of the face. We have two eyes, two ears, one nose, one mouth etc.. We decorated our own face with hair. 

ABC

We also began discussing letters. We have special picture cards with our pictures names on them and we sing the song:
(Tune: Old macdonald had a farm....)
We have a girl/boy in our class and _(Aaron)_______ is her/his name.
A for Aaron, A for Aaron A for Aaron ,
Aaron is his name.....etc.

We found the first letter of our name on our ABC chart in our room and hung our picture on that letter.
