Purim!!

We have been so busy preparing for purim in our classroom!
We love to hear the story of Purim. Our new vocabulary words include: King , Queen, palace, crown, scepter, etc. We decorated our own palaces and we saw so many pictures of real palaces where real Kings and Queens live. What big , fancy houses Kings and Queens live in! We decorated our own purim character puppets to be able to tell you the story of Purim by ourselves:) . We learned some purim songs, and we used the king and queen outfits to dress up in our own classroom while telling over the purim story. We spoke about different emotions happy, sad, and other descriptive words like KIND esther, MEAN Haman, WISE mordechai etc...

This is one of the purim songs we learned in our classroom. We even sang it so loud for our grandparents today and they were so proud!!!

TUNE: If you're happy and you know it..

If you hear the name King Achashverosh stamp your feet...

If you hear the name Queen Vashti tap your shoulders...

If you hear the name  Mordechai clap your hands...

If you hear the name of Haman say BOOOO (shake your gragger.)...

If you hear the name Queen Esther... shout HOORAY...

Bassie and Liam dressed up as Queen Esther and Rabbi Mordechai.

We made our very own puppets to bring home.

We used finger paints to paint King Achashverosh orange

We used Liquid water colors to paint Haman

We decorated kind Queen Esther with pink feathers.

We decorated our noisy graggers with colorful tissue paper. We shake them when we don't want to hear mean Haman's name.

We made Hamantash dough to shape with our grandparents when they come for the Purim party.

Here are some pictures from our Purim party with our grandparents.
