Chanukah / blue

Oh Chanukah, Oh Chanukah,,,come light the menorah...

Chanukah is in the air! We have been speaking about the story of Chanukah as well as playing with dreidels, menorahs, candles etc...
We made chanukah Menorahs out of popsickle sticks

We had such a fun time finger painting with BLUE finger paints for our chanukah, 'Who do you see/' book.

We each stuck on pennies and bolts for our Menorahs and we can't wait to take them home!

We used a doll house as the Beis Hamikdosh ( Holy Temple). We told the story of how the King Antiochus, and his Greek soldiers didn't let us learn our Torah or do Mitzvahs that we love to do. We would learn Torah in secret and when the king's guards came to see what we were doing, we would hide our Torahs and play dreidel. They also made a big mess in our holy  temple. OH NO! But then the Macabbes sent away the Greeks and were able to clean up the Bais Hamikdosh and light the Menorah again! YAY!!

During play time, The Morahs 'caught us' telling over the story of chanukah to our friends with  all the details !!! What great listeners we have in our class;);)

We all had a turn mixing the cake batter to make a pink cake for  Shulie.

We mixed icing to decorate Shulie's cake.

We sang Happy Birthday and had a great party!

Thank you Shulie for the beautiful gifts that you gave us!:)

Blue

We started a new color this week. BLUE.
We collected all different BLUE objects from our classroom and held them at circle time. We sang our color song, and when we said the color BLUE we had to lift up our blue object:)

We used different BLUE materials to make beautiful collages.

We painted with blue paint.

We reviewed our colors using colorful pegs. We each had a turn to take out a blue or red peg from the basket and place it on the correct color circle.
